Roulette definition and meaning

Roulette is a casino game played in both brick-and-mortar and online casinos.

A game of roulette is comprised of two parts: a roulette table and a roulette wheel. The table has a layout on which players can place bets, while the wheel has numerous pockets labelled with numbers that correspond to the table’s layout.

The gameplay is relatively simple — a player only needs to place a bet on the roulette table. The croupier will then toss the ball onto the spinning wheel, and after the ball stops, the croupier will announce the winning bets.

Whether you’re playing in a brick-and-mortar or online casino, there are numerous variants of roulette you’ll encounter. Some of the most popular ones are European Roulette and American Roulette. The only difference between these two is that the latter comes with a 00 pocket.

When it comes to online roulette, apart from the standard version, some of the most popular variants are games like Lightning Roulette and Double Ball Roulette, for example.
